Alex PooleBSc (Hons)Email Alex |
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Pilates Instructor Personal Trainer |
|
Alex has a distinctive approach to personal training, which stems from his experience as a professional athlete, as well working along side health care practitioners for a number of years. Alex graduated from Loughborough University in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science; he is currently completing his MSc in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics. Alex has trained as a Speed, Agility & Quickness (SAQ) coach, as well as being a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), which is the gold standard qualification in the USA for working with elite level athletes and sports people. Alex has a long pedigree within the professional sporting arena; he played Rugby for England school, England Universities and was a professional 1st XV player for Bristol RFC, while they were part of the Zurich Premiership. Allied to this he has worked with amateur and professional rugby players, international junior tennis players, International Rugby referees and an elite Snowboarder. Probably, most significant to note is his contribution to Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, where he was the lead Conditioning specialist for 7 years, during which time they reached the Nat West, C&G and Benson & Hedges Final 6 times, winning an unprecedented 5 trophies. Even though Alex has worked with such elite athletes, and inevitably got them lifting heavy weights. This is not his sole philosophy, he believes in implementing the principles utilised in Pilates, along with the Physiotherapy principles of correct motor patterning and normal movement. Through this Alex is able to offer a complete and comprehensive package to all his clients |
